The inspection point
In mixed production, variants are often distinguished by one hole or a few millimetres of edge. An operator misses the difference at the end of a shift, and when the wrong variant is processed at the next station both the part and the cycle are lost.
How it runs on the line
Part identification is trained with about 20 parts collected from your line, each variant becoming its own class. The unit classifies the arriving part and sends the variant code to the PLC, which selects the station program. Adding a variant is a matter of collecting samples; the hardware does not change.
