Thread presence and pitch check
The inspection point
An uncut or crushed thread announces itself on the assembly line when the bolt refuses to turn, and it stops the station. The check has to answer two questions: is there a thread, and are the first threads damaged? Since it means looking into a hole, lighting is the critical factor.
How it runs on the line
The unit is placed on the axis of the hole and the light casts shadow onto the thread crests. Measurement mode assesses the thread profile and the evenness of the pitch; a plain bore and crushed first threads are flagged as rejects. The result reaches the line.
