Short shot and flash detection

The inspection point

A short shot is always a reject: the geometry of the part is incomplete. Flash appears as a thin excess along the parting line and usually indicates a worn tool or too much pressure. Both describe the state of the moulding cycle, which makes watching the trend as valuable as pulling the part.

How it runs on the line

The unit looks at the point where the part leaves the tool, or at the end-of-line conveyor. The model learns how good shots look, so an unfilled corner and excess at the parting line come out as deviation. The result goes to the PLC as pass/fail, and a rising rate is early warning for tool maintenance.
