Anomaly and defect detection
Sink and burn mark detection
The inspection point
A sink mark is a shallow depression left where a thick section cooled late: cosmetic on a visible face, structural on a functional one. A burn mark is the dark patch where trapped gas ignited. Both are low in contrast and can disappear under direct light on glossy plastic.
How it runs on the line
The lighting is built to reveal the slope of the surface, because a sink mark only becomes visible when it is shadowed at the right angle. The model learns the good surface and flags the region that departs from it. The decision reaches the line, and the flagged region can be shown to the operator.
