Glass scratch and edge chip detection

The inspection point

On glass, a defect is seen together with everything behind it, so the real work is telling a scratch apart from a line in the background. Edge chips come from tempering or handling and can cause the panel to shatter at a later station.

How it runs on the line

The light comes from below or from the side, so the defect reveals itself by scattering while the background stays constant. The model learns the appearance of a clean panel and flags deviation. The result reaches the handling cell and the panel is removed.
