Assembly and missing part

Delivery order content verification

The inspection point

One of the biggest complaints of delivery customers is a missing or wrong item in the order. The contents change with every order, and a missing item always surfaces only once the order reaches the customer. That turns into a refund request, a low rating and a customer who orders somewhere else next time. At the packing counter the staff check order after order by eye, and the items left out are mostly small ones such as sauces and drinks.

How it runs on the line

The unit is mounted over the packing counter and sees, in a single frame, the tray where an order's items are gathered before they go into the bag. Code reading takes the order from the code on the order receipt; part identification recognises each menu item, drink and extra, each trained as its own class on about 20 samples. The items seen are compared with the order, and a missing, extra or wrong item is shown on the screen at the counter before the bag is sealed.
